This is a note sent to from one patient to a prospective patient:

 Here is a complete new approach, you can't go wrong. You go through a complete hearing test and the hearing aid is then set up to compensate for your hearing deficiencies, all at this visit. No time is needed to fit same to the individual ears, they go behind your ears and you walk out with them. You are under no obligation to buy them and you will be given the opportunity to try them out for a few weeks. Well my experience has been very satisfactory; I have the feeling of not wearing any hearing aid. My participation in multiple discussions have been tremendously improved and appreciated by me and those I'm talking with.

 You have nothing too loose; if you are not completely satisfied you return them.

"I am an energetic 87 year old woman, who was told I kept forgetting things, and my doctor diagnosed me with possible Alzheimers and I was put on Aricept.  Fast-forward to my appt. with Dr. Leslie Herman.  She was extremely professional and suggested a new hearing aid she believed would be advantageous over the one I was wearing.  After spending time with the new hearing aid, I realized I didn’t have a memory problem but it only seemed that way, for how could I possibly remember something I never heard in the first place?  A new family doctor gradually took me off the Aricept, and I have the usual memory problems, but nothing more serious than what my contemporaries experience on a daily basis.  I am also much more outgoing with my neighbors because I can hear them loud and clear.
